David J. Marks first hunted Africa 8 years ago. His passion for hunting in Southern Africa has taken him back every year since then and sometimes twice a year. In 2002, this same passion inspired him to form Safari SA.
Since then they have aquired land in the Umkomaas Valley in KwaZulu Natal and have recently built Nkwazi Game Lodge. In addition, they secured numerous quality Hunting Areas and Concessions throughout South Africa. David has been to PH School in South Africa and currently holds a PH license. It was here that he met Brian Mullins, who has become a partner in Safari SA.
David is a successful real estate entrepeneur in Dallas, Texas, where he also owns a ranch and is the driving force behind Safari SA, in terms of financial backing and business expertise. In addition to Brian, he has just recently brought Kevin Robertson on board as a Marketing Associate and PH which further enhances the already extraordinary quality of Safari SA's human element.
Brian Mullins grew up on a farm in the Eastern Cape and has been hunting South African plains game for over 30 years. In Addition to being a PH, he is a Life Member of East Cape Game Management Association, where he has Dedicated Hunter Status. He specializes in East Cape plains game species. In addition, Brian is one of the most well-known and well respected East Cape Storytellers, with a broad knowledge of South African Culture and History, with a particular interest in the Xhosa People. Brian has a degree in African Laguages, and while English is his home language, he is equally fluent in Afrikaans and Xhosa and he has a reasonable command of Zulu. Brian is also a dedicated, world-class fly fisherman.
Kevin Robertson is a very well-known Wildlife Veterinarian, Professional Hunter and Author. The study of ballistics and the sporting pursuit of Cape Buffalo are Kevin's particular passion and he is considered as one of Africa's leading experts in these fields.
Kevin writes under the pseudonym of "Doctari" and is the author of the best-selling African classic - "The Perfect Shot". This book is also available as a mini pocket-sized version, and recently in DVD format.
Kevin's latest work "Africa's Most Dangerous" covers cape buffalo in fine detail. His book is already being called the definitive work on these formidable black bovines. Doctari also writes articles for many international hunting magazines, and he annually conducts educational seminars at international hunting shows.
Kevin is also the director of a Professional Hunting School and the technical advisor to Norma - one of Europe's largest ammunition manufacturers, on African cartridges and ballistics.
Franscois
Taljaard, professional hunter, has been involved in the African hunting
industry for over 25 years on a full time basis. He is a dedicated
professional hunter with many years of first-hand experience hunting
plains game, all of the Big Five species, as well as many of the Central
African species.
Todd
Lutman has been involved in the African hunting industry for over 20
years. He is a dedicated professional hunter and has broad experience
with hunting South African plains game as well as being a multi-species
wing shooting expert.
